Torrent lights the way

Torrent Trackside recently provided 100% carbon neutral lighting for the entire Balfour Beatty Rail ITT (Integrated Track Team) work site at Hanger Lane on the London Underground network. 

The company believes this to be the first time that a track renewal job has been completed on this network which was lit up fuel-free, emission-free and noise-free.

Torrent installed battery powered ProTrack link lighting from Prolectric prior to the works taking place and removed it on completion of all activities. The product comprises nine lights powered from one battery pack, providing up to 16 hours of operation with the ability to illuminate up to 100m of track.

Access points are lit by 7m high ProRXM Solar towerlights which are emission- free and silent in operation. They have the same footprint as a typical lighting tower but use zero diesel or petrol and fold down for safe and easy transport.
