Established in June 2020, this site brings news and comment from the world of tools, plant and equipment hire.

I talk to hirers and suppliers about their recovery from the pandemic, the new opportunities arising, and the initiatives they’re developing as Britain builds back better.

In June 2021 I introduced Site-Eco. This monitors the driving forces, strategies and technologies shaping how hirers will help end users meet their sustainability obligations both now and in the future.

Each element of the website provides reliable, relevant and practical information at a time of unprecedented change and challenge.

A word about me: after two decades reporting on the hire industry, I’d planned to step away at the start of 2020 and take time out – only for Covid-19 to put the world on hold. I felt compelled to monitor the historic achievements taking place so I’m continuing to follow the developments in hire as the world adapts.
