Speedy highlights collaboration

I’ve been looking back at Speedy Hire’s Live Expo 24 event which took place in Liverpool last month with 150 exhibitors and a varied seminar programme focusing on company initiatives and industry issues.

On display were a number of product initiatives and technological advances with environmental benefits. Speedy CEO Dan Evans told me that it demonstrated how theory was being put into practice.

“Machines that were shown as prototypes at our last Speedy Expo [in October 2022] such as Niftylift’s HR15 Hydrogen access platform with a hydrogen fuel cell are now available and proving popular in our fleet.

“Similarly, the first hydrogen powered generator (pictured above) resulting from our joint venture with AFC Energy is also ready for hire.

“Collaborating with our suppliers and with our customers is key,” Dan said. “We believe in our suppliers to develop the technology and make any necessary design changes, and they trust us to commit to it. Our work with Niftylift, for example, has taken three years.

“It’s challenging but you can’t stop innovating. And what new technology on show this year will be ready and available for hire when we hold our next Speedy Expo?”

Dan added that innovation was one of the qualities that would differentiate suppliers and hirers rather than price, owing to the environmental benefits and overall cost savings that cutting-edge products can deliver.
