Belle saw brings benefits

While obviously being environmentally friendly replacements for their fossil fuel driven counterparts, battery powered products can also delivery operational advantages, as the Site-Eco blog has pointed on previous occasions.
Ray Neilson, Managing Director of Altrad Belle, gave me one such example as one of the reasons why the manufacturer’s recently launched DC 300E+ cut-off saw has quickly proved popular.
“Petrol-engined saws can be very temperamental to start from cold or hot, so some operators have a habit of just leaving them running between cutting tasks, which has site Health & Safety implications,” he said.
“The battery saw starts and stops as soon as the operating switch is pressed, eliminating the problem.” As reported previously on the blog, the DC 300E+ saw uses the same 82V battery as Altrad Belle’s Minimix 150E+ mixer and the new PCLX 32E+ and PCLX 40E+ compaction plates, offering further operational benefits in terms of flexibility and efficiency.
