Tufftruk’s concrete performer

Tufftruk believes that its battery powered EB800 Truxta articulated mini dumper can increase construction site productivity when fitted with its specially configured concrete pouring skip.

The attachment, which was a new addition earlier this year, has a high rear lip to prevent the wet material from spilling over during transportation.

Managing Director Andrew Simpson tells me that the ‘concrete buggy’ approach is popular in the US for moving the material on sites as opposed to using a concrete pump that might remain idle for much of the working day.

“It’s also an attractive option for work in inner cities with low-emission regulations, as well as in noise-sensitive locations such as hospitals.”

The EB800 weighs just 500kg and has an 800kg carrying capacity. The battery system gives enough capacity to last throughout a typical working day and the machine can be recharged overnight.

The unit has 4×4 drive and regenerative braking that helps to top up the battery level during operation. Tufftruk says the concrete skip can be quickly replaced with a standard skip or a flatbed.
