Hands up for charity

Specialist hirer Vp UK Forks has added an electric JCB telescopic handler with distinctive livery to its fleet after winning the machine in a charity auction.

The JCB 525-60E electric Loadall was built from scratch by 36 JCB apprentices to raise money for the company’s Platinum Jubilee NSPCC Appeal and Vp UK Forks placed highest bid for it in a special auction.

The machine was given its custom look by 20 pupils from two Stoke-on-Trent schools, whose handprints were incorporated into a vinyl wrap on the bonnet.

Shayne Wright, MD of the hirer said: “The auction of the JCB 525-60E gave Vp UK Forks the perfect opportunity to invest in the great charitable work of the NSPCC while growing our fleet of zero emission machines.

“As a Group, we have committed to reduce our emissions in line with 1.5C global warming targets and to become net-zero by 2050 at the latest. Innovations such as the JCB 525-60E will be an important contribution towards that target.”
