More control with Belle

The blog has previously discussed examples of green versions of existing products that do not just do away with fossil fuels, but also give significant operational benefits. And here’s another one. 

While Altrad Belle’s battery powered 13/40E+ forward plate compactor delivers the same performance (13kN vibration force) as its petrol counterpart with no emissions, the motor speed can be altered on the go with a choice of three settings. 

“This means operators can quickly obtain the best results by adjusting the speed as they are working, say, round obstacles or in corners, giving faster results and greater efficiency,” managing director Ray Neilson tells me, and he knows that this is happening in practice. 

“Data relating to operation is stored on the machine for analysis later, giving information on how and for how long it has been used, along with the various control settings.” 

Another advantage of the battery version is that the user simply presses a switch to start and stop the machine instead of having to pull a cord, and it cannot be left idling. This reduces fuel consumption and noise levels, and extends running times. 

Indeed, Ray says that many users are finding that one battery gives them ample power to last them through a typical working day.
