Sunbelt hits a century with Shindaiwa Eco order

Shindaiwa’s latest machine has made a flying start with Sunbelt Rentals placing a significant order for the product shortly after its launch. 

The new Eco Hybrid 300 welder generator made its public debut at the Executive Hire Show in Coventry yesterday and Sunbelt placed an order on the Shindaiwa stand for more than 100 units. 

The machine has a Stage V diesel engine plus an integral backup battery and offers up to 300A of welding current, with automatic start/stop functionality. 

It is claimed to offer reductions in fuel consumption of up to 60% compared against a conventional diesel model, a decrease in CO2 emissions of up to 50% and has a quoted noise level of 55dB(A) at 7m. 

“This is the first product of its type in the UK market,” said Shindaiwa managing director Andy Munford, who is pictured (left) with Steve Smith, Industrial & Lifting Director at Sunbelt Rentals. 

Steve added: “Our client base is challenging us to provide them with innovative plant and equipment to help them meet their sustainability targets, and this machine fits a popular hire product category.”  

The first units in the order will be delivered this summer.
