Green advice hub

Andrew Griffith MP, who is the Government’s UK Net Zero Business Champion, was busy writing letters recently.

He  has written to organisations in the retail, manufacturing and technology sectors to tell them about steps they can take to fight climate change and make their businesses more sustainable.

Andrew Griffith’s letters point businesses of all sizes to sources of guidance available on going green. These include the UK Business Climate Hub, which offers much information and links to further resources.

I have had a quick look and there really is some valuable material there which is relevant to any company or organisation, including hirers interested in knowing more.

The Hub gives access to advice on actions a business can take itself, such as choosing electric vehicles, energy efficiency measures and reducing waste. It also suggests talking to suppliers about how they are reducing their carbon footprint.

Once you drill down and explore the links, there really is a lot of useful information, at different levels of detail.

One particularly useful I came across is Emission Possible published by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Described as a beginner’s guide to emission reporting to help organisations reach their climate goals, it’s a very succinct overview – only eight pages but information-packed – outlining the challenges and possible steps to take.

Guidance like this can help a business on the way to calculating its carbon footprint, achieving cost savings, enhancing its reputation and foreseeing potential risks.

The UK Climate Business Hub is well worth exploring.
