Makita additions

Makita UK continues to introduce more cordless machines with two new additions to the power tools line-up in its XGT range.
The LS004G 40VMax is a 260mm slide compound mitre saw which provides a no-load speed of up to 3,600rpm, with performance that is said to be comparable to corded machines. A rail-forward design allows users to maximise workspace as it can be positioned next to a wall.
The tool, pictured, also has the manufacturer’s auto-start wireless system technology (AWS), enabling it to connect to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth.
The second newcomer is the 80VMax (40V x 2) UR012GZ04 brushcutter which delivers up to 6,400rpm and a maximum power output at 2.0kW. Makita says that the tool’s performance is similar to that of a 40cc class engine grass trimmer, making it suitable for heavy duty applications.
Automatic torque drive technology (ADT) adapts the cutting speed according to the load conditions and active feedback sensing technology (AFT) shuts down the tool if the rotation speed suddenly slows, protecting the user against kickback.
Kevin Brannigan, marketing manager at Makita UK said: “All of our XGT solutions are engineered with built-in programming, which provides digital communication between the battery and the tool, so that both work together for optimum performance and sustained power.”
