For the specialist and demanding railway maintenance sector, TPA has introduced a road rail access point (RRAP) that can be installed and removed quickly, saving time for contractors.

As its name suggests, an RRAP a means of permanent or temporary access and egress for road rail vehicles and plant on to the Network Rail infrastructure.

TPA, which is part of the Vp group, says that its TAMS V-RAM temporary system can be installed by hand rather than machine, saving time spent waiting for power to be isolated to avoid plant conflicting with overhead lines. This is estimated to save one hour per shift or five hours per week.

It can be installed by four to six people in less than 20 minutes, recovered in less than ten and then moved quickly and reconfigured as required, says the hirer.

The RRAP has been designed to accommodate the safe on/off and cross-tracking of road rail vehicles and wheeled plant weighing up to 50 tonnes, during rail renewals and maintenance works.
