Genquip’s rising star
19 February 2024
Genquip has launched the Solaraise system that enables roof-mounted solar panels on its Groundhog iRange welfare cabins to be angled for peak performance.
Managing Director Peter Beach says this increases efficiency by up to four times than if the panels were to lay flat. The system is operated hydraulically via switches inside the cabin.
This gives longer running times in summer and reduces the need for the generator to start up for recharging the battery. The panels lower automatically if high winds are detected.
Also, as solar panels obviously achieve greatest efficiency when facing south, Genquip is fitting compasses on the drawbars of Groundhog’s iRange units so they can be aligned optimally.
The system was demonstrated on the company's stand at the Executive Hire Show last week.
