On the Sunbelt Express

For efficient on-site tool management and security, Sunbelt Rentals has introduced the Sunbelt Rentals Express. 

This is a customisable secure store that provides round-the-clock or timed access to tools, spares, PPE and items like consumables to authorised users. 

Stock levels are automatically monitored and alerts can be sent when replenishment is required. In this way, site deliveries can be minimised and the user’s carbon footprint is reduced. 

Items are stored in individual lockers of different sizes which open automatically when access is granted. 

Site personnel are issued with individualised access cards that are pre-programmed with relevant permissions related to the equipment they are trained and authorised to use. They can choose what they need via a computer screen menu, or by searching a list of specific tasks they can find out what items will be required to complete it. 

The system logs the identity of the person who accessed the equipment, the time when it was taken and when it has been returned. This helps to track the location of items and reduces the risk of loss. 

It also detects any returned equipment that must be serviced or recalibrated before it can be used again, and prevents access to it until this has been done. 

With the Sunbelt Rentals Express, users can monitor their stock levels, usage and spending via real-time reports, and they can also use it to manage their owned items.  

The system is shown at Sunbelt’s Green Solutions Day held in Reading.
