Hire Safe adds superbooms

The machines might be somewhat larger than most typically covered by the blog, but specialist access and plant supplier Hire Safe Solutions has added eight XCMG XGS50E telescopic ‘superbooms’ to its fleet, which the company was able to collect using vehicles from its own transport fleet.

The Leamington Spa-based hirer says that the diesel machines are popular owing to their robust design and performance capabilities, with a maximum working height of more than 50m and a horizontal outreach of 25.20m. The turntable rotates through 360° and the platform can move between 160°.

The business utilised eight STGO 2 Scania trucks with three and four-axle extending trailers to transport the machines from the Bristol docks, and a film crew videoed the whole project.

Hire Safe Solutions says that the investment is part of a planned £34 million capital expenditure programme for 2024 that includes, fifteen 58m booms and 30 additional scissor lifts with working heights of more than 25m.
