Himoinsa recently introduced a convenient diagnostic kit that allows qualified personnel to carry out advanced diagnostic and maintenance tasks on the manufacturer’s generator sets in a simple and intuitive way, regardless of engine brand.

Users can view in real time the values and operating conditions of generator sets powered by electronic engines made by Yanmar, FPT, Scania, MTU, PSI and Ford. 

The dedicated software facilitates the reading of fault codes, making it useful for certifying the quality of maintenance work. 

The tool provides access to detailed technical information, images, graphics and diagrams for the model under analysis, and can be used to regenerate the after-treatment systems in Stage V generator sets. 

The system helps users to identify the failure code, the part and its location, and allows them to perform actions that involve modifying parameters in different ECUs, such as calibrating sensors, configuring operating parameters or replacing and regenerating the DPF diesel particulate filter. 

Himoinsa can train technicians on how to use the tool, which is supplied with a carrying case to hold cables, a link device and a laptop. It also comes with a software licence to access the control interface and carry out maintenance and repair work.  

Since a large proportion of faults and service call-outs are the result of operator error, this tool could be a godsend for many technicians.
