Snorkel on the up

Snorkel has launched a new compact mobile elevating work platform and says that more models will be unveiled later this year.

The all-electric drive S3013 Mini offers a maximum working height of 5.8m and can be used indoors or outdoors. It can be driven at full height with no height limiter and has a basket capacity of 272kg.

The machine is 0.76m wide, 1.44m long and weighs in at only 815kg. Its 1.86m closed height facilitates passage through standard doorways without the need of folding guardrails.

The S3013 comes with non-marking tyres and has a slide-out deck extension for extra outreach. It also has a fixed control box and a wander lead feature for operator safety and productivity.

Power comes from a single lithium battery or two 12V maintenance-free AGM batteries, dependent on customer specification. The steering is electronically actuated and the machine contains no hydraulic hoses.

Production is now under way at the company’s Vigo manufacturing facility in Washington, Tyne & Wear, with availability throughout Europe from April.

As with other models built at the UK facility, the S3013 Mini benefits from the factory’s dual coat powder paint system, giving a finish that enables machines to resist harsh job site conditions.

Snorkel says the versatile machine can be used in diverse locations, from domestic and M&E environments, to heavy-duty applications where weight and physical size is an issue.

David Graham, General Manager of the Vigo facility, said; “Our team has put a lot of work into ensuring this model exceeds our customer requirements and has some unique features suited to the environment it’ll be used in.

“Initial customer feedback has been excellent and we’re looking forward to production starting in April, with more new models to be announced throughout the year.”

The S3013 Mini will be displayed on Snorkel’s stand (F20) at the Executive Hire Show on 14 and 15 February in Coventry.
