Busy Hares on the move

Hares Hire Services will be moving from its current Rainham premises to a larger site a few miles away in Romford at the end of the month, reflecting the company’s ongoing growth. 

“We got the keys on 1 December and spent much of the Christmas holiday period moving equipment and getting ready,” MD Daren Hare told me. “We aim to be trading out of the new facility from 27 January. 

“The Romford building [pictured below] gives us approximately 50% more space and measures 12,000 sq ft with a 9,000 sq ft yard. It’s been used as a hire depot in the past, having been a site for Hewden and then Speedy. 

“Unlike Rainham, the premises are virtually all on one level giving operational benefits and the bigger yard will make it easier to load and unload multiple vehicles,” added Daren. 

“It’s also in a more residential area so we should attract more business from Joe Public, too.” 

Hares Hire Services serves customers throughout the Greater London area and, besides tools and equipment, it has a growing powered access fleet which is in growing demand throughout the south-east of England. 

“There are certainly no signs of any slowdown,” said Daren. “Since re-opening after Christmas I’ve been on the phone virtually non-stop quoting customers who have sites opening soon.”
