HAE adds waste service

HAE has formed a partnership with a specialist waste management organisation to offer collection and recycling services to its members and those of its sister Event Hire Association. 

Called HAE EHA Waste Services, the operation can provide members with a single-source service covering items such as: electrical waste including cables, power tools, compressors, white goods and industrial equipment; all types of batteries; chemicals, paints and oily rags; metals, plastics, glass, dry mixed recyclables and general waste; tyres and hazardous wastes.

To provide this service, the association has teamed up with a dedicated Gateshead-based business called GAP Group (NE) Ltd – which has no connection with the Glasgow-based, independent national hirer, GAP Hire Services, whose official name is GAP Group Ltd. 

Carl Bartlett, Director Certification Services at HAE EHA, said that the new operation will support members with their environmental compliance, as well as providing guidance and relevant documentation. 

Nigel Tomlinson, Commercial Director (Electrical Waste) at GAP Group (NE) said that the business offers some of the world’s most advanced recycling technology and plans to double in size within three years.
