Sunbelt plants an Acorn

Sunbelt Rentals has acquired the Belfast-based camera and equipment hire business Acorn Film & Video Ltd, which has served Northern Ireland's film and TV industry for more than 25 years.

This expands Sunbelt’s activity in this specialist market, following its acquisitions of PKE Lighting, Movietech, Media Access Solutions and Alpha Grip in 2022.

Acorn owner Roger Fitzpatrick and his colleagues will remain with the business, working with Sunbelt Rentals’ film and TV teams led by MD Mike Pollard, a former owner of PKE Lighting.

“With Sunbelt Rentals’ extensive camera, grip and lighting products now included within our existing portfolio, this is sure to be an exciting development for the Northern Ireland film and television industry and our talented crews, excellent locations and studios," said Roger Fitzpatrick. 

Operating from two film and TV locations in Belfast, Sunbelt will provide camera, lighting and grip equipment, complemented by power generation products, plant, fencing, welfare units and temporary infrastructure.

Sunbelt has other regional centres serving this market in Manchester, Cardiff and London.
