More JCB pothole machines for hire

JCB’s official rental partner for the Pothole Pro road repair machine has placed an order for 50 more of the units for its fleet.
Commercial asset supplier Dawsongroup already had 11 Pothole Pros in its fleet but with all of them now out on long-term hire with councils up and down the country, more were urgently needed to help repair Britain’s embarrassingly poor road surfaces.
The Asphalt Industry Alliance’s (AIA) Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance survey has estimated that there are a record £14 billion worth of outstanding road repairs in England and Wales, equating to a nine-year backlog.
JCB says that its Pothole Pro can undertake a typical repair in just eight minutes, four times quicker than standard methods. Operators can cut out the damaged surface, crop the edges and clean for a permanent fix using the one machine.
Dawsongroup MD Glen Carruthers said: “We only bought our first JCB Pothole Pro under a year ago and the response has been staggering, with the whole of the current fleet now out on hire. We have placed this additional order simply to keep up with demand.”
JCB says tests show that its Pothole Pro can complete a repair in less than eight minutes, four times faster than standard methods and equivalent to 700 potholes per month. An operator can cut out the damaged surface, crop the edges and clean the hole for a permanent fix.
