Shindaiwa’s green Hybrids
18 October 2023
Sunbelt Rentals’ Green Solutions Day held recently in Reading provided an opportunity to see the Shindaiwa Eco Hybrid welder generator, which the hirer added to its fleet earlier this year.
Having its own in-house paint plant at its factory in Four Ashes, Wolverhampton, Shindaiwa was able to supply the sizeable order of units in Sunbelt’s familiar green livery.
Andy Munford, MD at Shindaiwa Ltd, says the machine is the first hybrid model of its kind on the UK market.
The 300A welder generator has a Stage V Kubota engine in tandem with a lithium-ion capacitor storage system designed for optimum running. The machine shuts off automatically when not in use and restarts again as required.
The Eco Hybrid is said to be able to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 60 per cent, with noise levels lower at 55dB(A).
Kevin McNicholas, Sunbelt’s Sales Manager – Industrial says that the machine has been well received in markets such as refineries and petrochemical plants, amongst others.
