Speedy Spotlights heart health

Speedy Hire has donated £25,000 to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and formed a partnership for its Spotlight On campaign to raise awareness of hidden heart conditions.
The company first worked with the charity when it installed defibrillators in all its locations across the UK in July 2021. And as part of the ongoing partnership, Speedy employees will run in the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday, 15 October to raise finds for the BHF. They will also compete in next year’s London Marathon on 21 April.
Speedy says that personnel have recently been sharing stories of their own personal experiences of related health issues, including mistaking a heart attack diagnosis with less serious medical symptoms such as breathlessness and dizziness. These will help to raise awareness of the Spotlight On campaign.
BHF Fundraising Manager, Nicole Quirk, said: “We’re thrilled that Speedy Hire chose BHF to be one of their charity partners and for their generous donation. Hidden heart conditions often go undiagnosed for too long, until something goes wrong or it’s too late."
Sam Westran, Chair of Speedy's Communities Committee, added: “Our Speedy Hire colleagues are like a family and, having several people across our business who have personally been impacted by heart issues, we’re delighted to be able to support the charity’s Spotlight On campaign.”
Judging from the picture above, it looks like Speedy personnel and the BHF mascot are raring to go.
