PASMA training videos for hirer members

The Hirer/Dealer Committee of PASMA, the Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers’ Association, is developing a series of online training videos to enable staff of member companies to gain knowledge in essential aspects of hiring out and managing tower products. 

Committee Chair Martin Doran, who is also Director of Astley Hire, says that the initiative will enable hire company members which do not have their own in-house training facility to benefit. 

Seven courses are in preparation and more could be added as required. Each will typically last between 20 and 30 minutes and they are designed for a broad spread of industry professionals, including hire desk personnel, managers, drivers and others in an organisation. 

Topics will include: an introduction to standard towers, advanced configurations, low-level equipment, understanding customer requirements, loading and unloading vehicles, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and managing tower hire transactions.

Martin says that PASMA’s website will also include listings of Hire/Dealer Committee members and their locations to help promote their operations. 

He adds that there are currently places on the Committee, so any member who wants to participate can apply to get involved. Most meetings are held virtually.
