Mecalac dumper wins design award

Mecalac’s dual view Revotruck which has a rotating cab has won an international Red Dot Design Award for its safety-oriented innovation, a top Best of the Best accolade. 

The judges praised the concept as being “impressively multifunctional and shows quasi-transformational characteristics for safer material transport.”

Mecalac says that site dumpers are involved in nearly one-third of all transport-related accidents on construction sites, primarily due to the obstructed visibility caused by their front loads while moving forward. 

The Revotruck’s rotating cab means that operators can see clearly without having to manually manoeuvre, while maintaining a comfortable posture. The machine also has four wide access points at each corner for safe access, regardless of the cab position.

Central chassis oscillation of up to 20° enhances stability and traction in all conditions, with a switchable steering mode to assist operation in tight spaces.
