Gold for GAP

GAP Group has received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for Fleet Safety in recognition of the hirer’s commitment to managing occupational road risk, safeguarding its drivers and ensuring the safety of other road users. 

The company secured the Award on its first time of entering. The application involved benchmarking fleet safety performance and, in particular, GAP’s regional transport managers’ (RTM) approach to managing road risk principles. 

This assessment involved independent evaluation of GAP’s fleet safety procedures, analysis of accident data performance and the RTMs implementation and management of an effective, cohesive road risk management programme.

Allister Maxwell, GAP’s Head of Safety, Risk and Compliance, said: “I am really pleased with this result as it demonstrates GAP’s deep-rooted commitment to delivering and sustaining leading health and safety standards and specifically in relation to occupational road risk. 

“It’s a fantastic and well-deserved achievement for our drivers, general managers and regional transport managers as they continue to demonstrate an unwavering passion for keeping people safe and GAP Operators Licence-compliant.”
