Makita expands garden tool line-up

Makita has expanded its range of 18V LXT cordless garden maintenance tools further with new additions that include a blower, hedge trimmers and a 350mm rear handle chainsaw.

The four new 18V LXT hedge trimmers include the DUH507 and DUH607 (pictured above) with 500mm and 600mm blade lengths respectively, with a 15mm maximum cutting capacity. The DUH506 and DUH606 brushless models have similar blade lengths and a 20mm cutting capacity and deliver improved performance and running times compared with equivalent machines with conventional brushed motors, states Makita.

The DUB187 brushless blower (shown below) also has a vacuum function and incorporates a ‘cruise control’ foxed speed setting. It has a 25-litre collection bag and a metal shredder blade on the fan gives a mulching capability.

To help professionals achieve maximum productivity, tall the above machines are compatible with Makita’s PDC01 portable power supply. This is a backpack battery unit that can be fitted with up to four LXT batteries to provide extended run times for a wide range of the manufacturer’s 18V and Twin 18V (36V) LXT machines via a connection adapter.

Also new, the DUC357 brushless LXT 350mm rear handle chainsaw is designed to give a high level of torque using a gear reduction mechanism for more demanding applications.
