Busy Belle

On my way back from the Plantworx exhibition last week, I visited Altrad Belle’s factory in Sheen, Derbyshire, to catch up on the latest developments there as the company decided not to exhibit at the show this year.

MD Ray Neilson took time out to show me round the impressive facility, which I have not visited for several years, and there has certainly been a lot going on. I’ll be reporting on several significant developments in future blog posts.

The most recent, however, is the unveiling of a new petrol compaction plate which has only just been launched, and I saw the first units rolling off the production line (below).

The PCLX32 is derived from the PCLX320 model and has a different Honda engine in the form of the 3.2hp GX120 which offers more power than its predecessor.

Ray says this engine is also used in other popular Belle products, giving parts commonality.

The 32cm wide machine has a 13kN vibration unit and can be fitted with a block paving pad. A water spray kit is also available.

The machine complements the PCLX40 which has a 40cm working width.

Look out for the other Altrad Belle news stories on the blog in the future, including how the business has boosted production capacity to meet growing demand for its DX 1000HT 1-tonne hi-tip dumper and for its battery powered products.
