Sunbelt grabs Alpha Grip

There’s clearly no slowdown at Sunbelt Rentals. The business has continued to expand its presence in the UK film and television equipment hire market with the purchase of the specialist hirer Alpha Grip.

This follows the company’s acquisitions in this sector earlier this year of Movietech, PKE Lighting, and Media Access Solutions.  

Operating on a national level, Alpha Grip provides services to producers of many popular UK film and television shows. Its equipment range includes items such as grip technology (camera supports), telescopic and modular camera cranes, stabilised and non-stabilised remote heads, and specialist vehicles. 

Commenting on the acquisition, Andy Wright, Sunbelt Rentals UK CEO, said: “Our continued expansion into the UK film and television market is made stronger by our recent acquisition of grip specialist, Alpha Grip. 

“Now, with the combined knowledge and expertise of Alpha, MAS, PKE, Movietech and William F. White International (WFW), also a Sunbelt Rentals company, we will offer our clients a completely integrated, full-service production solution, which will be a true differentiator in today's industry.”

Alpha Grip was established in 2004 and is based in Pinewood Studios.
