Load up with Makita

Makita has added a four-wheeled battery-powered wheelbarrow to its LXT cordless equipment range.
The DCU602 has a maximum load capacity of 300kg on flat ground and is powered by two 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries in series, but up to four can be used if a longer runtime is required. This gives up to 100 minutes of operation, with the user switching to the second pair of batteries when the first set are depleted.
The dump bucket can be operated electronically or manually and the machine has three forward speeds plus reverse. Electric and electromagnetic brakes are fitted as well as a hand lever operated mechanical brake. A swivel lock fixes the direction of the rear tyres.
In addition, the DCU602 has head and tail lights, as well as a warning beeper and power level gauge.
Makita says that, compared against petrol-powered alternatives, the machine offers equivalent power without exhaust fumes and CO2 emissions, as well as giving silent running.
Marketing Manager, Kevin Brannigan, said: “The DCU602 is an ideal solution for landscapers and builders looking to reduce manual handling on site. It offers them a powerful and dependable method of safely transporting materials, without the environmental drawbacks of petrol alternatives.”
