Cutting-edge Belle

Altrad Belle tells me that it is launching a battery-powered cut-off saw, which sees the company entering one of the most popular tool hire equipment categories.

The new DC 300E+ will be officially launched at the Executive Hire Show later this week. It gives a maximum 112mm depth of cut and is powered by the same battery as is used on the company’s Minimix 150E+ mixer, which was one of the standout products unveiled at last year’s exhibition.

“The DC 300E+ has a standard 20mm arbour and operates at normal speed, meaning that it can accept many industry standard 300mm diamond blades,” said Ray Neilson, Managing Director of Altrad Belle, speaking exclusively to the blog. “A contractor can cut a standard soil pipe with a single cut.”

The tool weighs only 5.7kg, facilitating operation and reducing fatigue. It has a five-position blade guard and also incorporates a 400 lumen work light.

In addition, Ray tells me that Altrad Belle is launching two new battery powered compaction plates that use the same 82V platform. These will also be displayed at the Show.

Designated the PCLX 32E+ (pictured below)  and PCLX 40E+, the machines have 320mm and 400mm plate widths respectively and are said to offer the same HAV (hand arm vibration) values and performance levels as a petrol powered equivalent, but with significant environmental benefits in terms of reduced noise and zero emissions.

With these latest launches, Altrad Belle now offers cordless models in the popular hire product categories of a concrete mixer, cut-off saw and compaction plate, all powered by the same interchangeable battery.

● The Executive Hire Show takes place on 14 and 15 February at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Altrad Belle will be on stand G30.
