Battery Camons
7 February 2024
Tracmaster is to introduce several battery powered variants of popular grounds care and landscaping machines in its built-for-hire Camon line-up.
Prototypes were seen at the Saltex show held at the NEC last autumn to invite visitor feedback, and they will also be displayed on Tracmaster’s stand (I31) at the Executive Hire Show taking place on 14 and 15 February at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Machines include battery variants of the Camon TC07 turf cutter, LS42 and LS14 lawn scarifiers, LA25 lawn aerator and C22 tiller, each of which will incorporate batteries from the manufacturer EGO.
Tracmaster MD Alex Pitt tells me that the batteries deliver performance that is equivalent to the petrol engine machines. Various configurations of batteries will be available to give extended run times.
The machines are being designed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Henfield, Sussex, and are scheduled to be available by the end of March.
