Groundhogs add up

The blog frequently highlights the need for hirers and suppliers to provide guidance on choosing appropriate equipment that meets customers’ individual sustainability requirements.
Genquip Groundhog has added a new interactive online calculator to its website to enable enquirers to find the most cost-effective welfare unit from its range, taking account of a project’s length and the level of carbon reduction required.
Users enter details such as the likely fuel cost, hire rates, project length and the number of hours per day that the equipment will typically run for.
The calculator then determines the likely cost of running different Groundhog models, including Standard, Fusion Pulse and iRange units, each of which offer different levels of technological enhancements.
Peter Beach, Genquip Groundhog’s MD, said that the calculator can generate some fascinating results.
In some instances, the standard unit can prove to be the most cost-effective proposition, particularly on shorter projects where welfare facilities will be used less intensively. Cost savings may be more likely to accrue over longer periods, with the technically advanced units resulting in reduced fuel consumption and fewer service visits.
Initiatives such as the calculator are welcome because they enable users to choose practical options that match the specific level of sustainability and carbon reductions that their project requires.
● Look out for several new Genquip Groundhog product launches on the company’s larger stand at the Executive Hire Show next month, including the 1+1 Mobile Solar Toilet, Static Solar Toilet and i500 Twin Toilet welfare unit (pictured), which will be shown alongside the GP360 Fusion Pulse.
