Stihl adds new battery brushcutters

Stihl has launched a new range of battery brushcutters that are the most powerful yet in its AP System for professional users. 

The FSA 200 and FSA 200 R offer a power output up to 60% higher compared to the FSA 135 model, and the manufacturer says this gives a comparable performance to its petrol-powered FS 361 C-EM clearing saw. 

Available in bike handle and loop handle models, the FSA 200 has variable speed control with three speed settings, enabling the user to tailor operation for different materials and maximising battery life. Power comes from a brushless motor and an anti-vibration system is incorporated.

The tools can be used with metal blades and PolyCut blades, as well as traditional mowing lines, to suit various cutting tasks. The FSA 200 also has a blade detection feature, increasing the maximum rpm when a grass blade is in use for optimal cutting of thick growth. 

The FSA 200 R has a quick-release clamp below the loop handle, allowing easy adjustment to accommodate users of varying heights. 

When equipped with Stihl’s Smart Connector 2 A, the brushcutters can collect data such as working time and speed setting history.
