GAP adds more Trime sets

GAP Group has added over 300 new environmentally friendly Trime lighting towers to its fleet, bringing the total number it has of the manufacturer’s machines to more than 2,000.

The total value of this latest deal is said to be more than £5m and comprises X-Solar Hybrid, X-Hybrid, and X-Battery powered models, chosen to meet customer demand as well as for their environmental benefits and low operational costs.

James Anderson, GAP’s Head of Asset Management and Supply Chain said: “We have had more requests from our customers across all sectors as they look to move towards more sustainable equipment which has led to this recent purchase.

“This has meant that each year we have seen the share of more environmentally friendly lights increasing year-on-year, which led to our decision to purchase the X-Solar Hybrid, X-Hybrid, and X-Battery this year. Our depots have been highlighting the features and benefits that solar, hybrid, and battery tower lights offer over diesel sets with fuel savings, reduced emissions and noise on site.

“Trime has always been very proactive in assisting GAP with any requests or projects and we’ve worked in partnership for many years. In particular, they have been actively offering training to our depot fitters on these new products and they have supported training and demonstrations with our customers to show the advantages their lights have to offer so they can maximise the benefits while hiring these lighting towers,” added James.

The X-Battery set operates emission-free and, for 80% of its operation, the X-Hybrid is powered exclusively by its batteries and so emits zero noise and zero carbon emissions. The X-Solar Hybrid is powered by a combination of solar panels and a fuel-efficient diesel engine.

● Look out for new Trime product additions in the near future.
