Prolectric’s green success

As the blog reported recently, Prolectric proved successful in the AMPS (Association of Manufacturers and suppliers of Power Systems and ancillary equipment) Awards for Excellence, winning in the category for Energy and Sustainability, and the company has been giving more details about the green measures it has adopted to heighten environmental awareness.
The award follows closely behind Prolectric’s CSRA Gold Accreditation for corporate social responsibility (CSR), recognising the Clevedon-based manufacturer’s dedication to an integrated environmental and social responsibility agenda, plus commitment to the welfare and development of its workforce and engagement with the local community.
Prolectric’s solar lighting and solar hybrid power generation products have been designed as direct like-for-like diesel replacements, making them a simple switch. Since launching its first solar lighting tower, the company estimates to have saved customers 27 million kg of CO2 and to have reduced diesel usage by more than 10 million litres. This represents a likely customer saving of more than £9m.
The AMPS awards judges remarked: “Prolectric stands out for their all-encompassing approach to sustainability, significantly reducing emissions while saving costs for clients. Their commitment to eco-friendly practices and community engagement sets a high standard in the sector.”

Prolectric says that the technology used in its products has been proven to work all-year round in all weather conditions, over multiple winter and summer cycles, backed up by real-world performance data and customer testimonials.
The business was awarded a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2021.
