Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland has announced the promotion of two personnel to senior roles in its green energy team to develop the hirer's sustainability initiatives.
Christian Spence becomes Head of Green Technology and Matthew O'Hara has been appointed Head of Sales for Clean Energy.
Christian (shown above), who joined the company in 2020 as a Sustainable Energy Manager and was promoted to Head of Clean Energy in 2022, supported the design of one of the largest private electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, implemented a large energy storage solution to support customers’ high-load profile applications, and challenged how clean energy solutions can be strategically placed. His new promotion is a strategic move to demonstrate the company's direction with clean, low-carbon energy solutions.
"I’m delighted to have been given this promotion to lead the business’s green technology strategic direction,” he said. “This allows us to dedicate the necessary time to carry out all diligence, understanding, research, testing, and modelling to ensure green technology adoption is successful. Going forward, I’m looking forward to exploring the future of low-carbon emerging green technologies and markets across all our product lines, including hydrogen, energy storage, second-life solutions, green power generation and renewable energy production solutions.”
As the Head of Sales for Clean Energy, Matthew O’Hara’s goal is to grow awareness and increase accessibility of environmentally friendly energy solutions to a wider customer base. He will also promote ways in which users can collectively reduce their carbon footprint and demonstrate how green technology can help them achieve their sustainability targets in a commercially viable way.
"I’m looking forward to this new role of providing customers with information and advice about clean energy,” said Matthew (pictured below). “My goal is to continue engaging with and educating customers on alternative energy solutions, including battery technology, alternative fuels, solar, and hydrogen power, and fundamentally change the mindset of a generator-only approach to temporary power.”
