United Rentals adds battery packs

United Rentals UK has added battery energy storage units to its fleet. 

The hirer has introduced 45kVA/60kWh Powrbank models from Powr2 to appeal to customers who are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and optimising energy efficiency.

The batteries can be used to provide power on their own or as part of a hybrid setup with a backup generator in a broad range of applications, from construction and events to remote locations and emergency situations. 

Also new to the United Rentals fleet is a basic tank designed to meet the specific needs of projects that require storage of non-hazardous liquids with a small footprint and maximum flexibility. 

The 35m3 BC35 unit (shown below) has a capacity of 35,400 litres or 63720kg and is designed for compactness. Typical uses include the storage of ground and rainwater and for containment during pumping projects. It can also be used in filtration and separation tasks involving fast-settling or floating pollutants, including water-sand mixtures. 

The tank itself weighs 3600kg and measures 2200mm by 2300mm by 7000mm.
