John F Hunt grows battery fleet
23 October 2023
John F Hunt Power displayed some of the latest fleet additions on its stand at the Showman’s Show last week, including new battery energy storage units that can be used alongside a diesel generator to create a hybrid system and reduce carbon emissions.
The newest machines include 72kW Bruno Enerpack units from BGG UK and 90kW models from Powr2. Others of larger capacity might be added in the future.
Battery units in the fleet are fitted with telemetry so that operating parameters can be monitored and carbon reductions calculated. Associate Director David Hazelwood told me that systems can be fine-tuned remotely to optimise fuel usage and the user’s overall carbon footprint.
The units are available from all five current John F Hunt Power depots in Grays, Bristol, Chester-le-Street, Halesowen and Livingston.
David added that the company remains confident about business prospects in 2024, with many housebuilders who had delayed starting new projects owing to economic uncertainty earlier this year now deciding to proceed in the first quarter.
In another development, Kevin Walker has rejoined John F Hunt Power as its Regional Sales Manager for the north west.
