Green success for Nixon
19 October 2023
Nixon Hire reports that its Wolverhampton flagship depot for renewables equipment has established itself quickly, serving customers across the West Midlands.
As reported earlier on the blog when I visited the facility shortly after it opened in June, a significant investment has been made in sustainable products for the fleet, including items like Prolectric Solar Hybrid Power generators, AJC EasyCabin mobile welfare units, Solar Smart Frames from AJC’s Power Solutions division and EHR battery storage products from Himoinsa.
The company says that eight new members of staff have been recruited to date to work across the site at all levels and more will be appointed as business grows.
Solar panels are to be mounted to the roof of extensive workshops at the site, as well as installing electric vehicle charging points. Indeed, Nixon Hire has pledged to become a net zero business by 2035.
The hirer adds that equipment from its Renewables Division is helping customers achieve fuel savings and reductions in carbon emissions, and that one site reported a saving in fuel costs of over £88,000 and 176.8 tonnes less carbon emissions generated after a year.
