MHM invests big in solar

MHM Group, the specialist rehire business offering power generation equipment, site lighting, fuel tanks and related products, has announced a significant £4.3 million investment in two solar lighting products manufactured by the Trime Group for its fleet.

The company has bought no fewer than 200 ST9 9m solar lighting towers and the same number of Solar Street Lites.

The ST9 (above) incorporates remote telemetry for real-time monitoring of performance and battery life, enabling users to achieve consistent illumination without interruptions. The product has been tailored for peak performance in the unpredictable climate of the UK and Ireland.

The solar Street Lites (below) are particularly suitable for low-level lighting applications such as on steps, stairs, walkways and site compounds.

By being solar powered, both machines eliminate CO2 emissions and help users lower their overall carbon footprint, with the additional benefits of no fuel costs and zero maintenance expenses.

The products are designed for use in a wide range of settings, including construction sites, film sets, TV studios and events.

Mat Llewellyn, MD of MHM Group, said: “By choosing solar-only, diesel-free lighting equipment from the Trime Group, we're not just making an investment in equipment but in the future of our planet.

“This step is a testament to our commitment and belief that the industry can – and should – actively pivot towards a zero-carbon landscape for their site lighting requirements."

Paul Hay, MD of Trime UK, added: "We're thrilled to see the MHM Group leading the way towards a carbon-neutral future. Their investment in not one, but two types of solar-only, diesel-free lighting for their hire fleet speaks volumes about their commitment.

“This decision is a clear indication that the market now has viable eco-friendly choices and is actively steering towards a zero-carbon horizon."
