Prolectric’s bright hybrid

You know it’s autumn when manufacturers add new lighting equipment to their portfolios in readiness for the longer evenings and darker mornings. 

New from Prolectric is the ProRXM solar hybrid lighting tower (shown above), designed to provide efficient, dual-purpose walkway and task lighting for highway and rail applications. 

Developed following customer requests, the compact unit is particularly suitable for trackside location and tight roadside spaces, and has four multi-directional 180W LED lights which can be dimmed, monitored and scheduled remotely. 

For walkway illumination, the ProRXM can be fully powered from three 270W solar panels with 8kW of usable battery bank storage. Alternatively, the lights can be put on a higher output setting, where the machine’s autonomous 2.8kW DC engine can provide backup power, consuming just 0.5 litres of fuel per hour. 

Prolectric will display the new machine on its stand at the Highways UK exhibition at the NEC on 18-19 October. Also on view will be the company’s ProPower 3-Phase solar hybrid power unit, which offers up to 60kW of hybrid power, with 30kVA inverter output and 105kWh of battery storage. This is designed to give flexibility in meeting individual site conditions, and the 3-phase ProPower can also be connected with existing diesel generators up to 100kVA to further expand on-site power capacity.

Both the ProPower 3-Phase and ProRXM Hybrid can be controlled both locally using a touchscreen controller, or remotely via a dedicated web portal. Key performance metrics and in-depth fuel, carbon and cost savings reports are also available.
