Himoinsa supplied power generation equipment to enable a music festival held in its home city of Murcia to operate in an eco-friendly way.
Products from the manufacturer were used at the Fan Futura Fest event on 28 and 29 July, including its S5 generator sets with Stage V engines and EHR battery power storage and distribution systems.
The company was the official supplier of green power equipment for the festival, which attracted 40,000 people.
The event has been audited and accredited as a sustainable festival thanks to a strategy based on three principal area of sustainable production, parallel activities related to sustainability and ensuring a positive legacy for the environment.
Using the S5 generators and EHR and battery units are said to be able to reduce emissions of harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons, particulate matter and carbon dioxide by up to 90 per cent compared against previous Stage IIIa sets.
In addition, using the EHR battery system enabled reductions in noise pollution, giving silent operation when used as the sole source of power.
“Being involved in the Fan Futura Fest project fulfils one of our main objectives, that of contributing to sustainability and respect for the environment at large events”, said Juan Ignacio Perona, Commercial Director of Himoinsa Spain.
The manufacturer has supplied similar equipment for use at other events around the world including major football championships, extreme competitions such as the Dakar Rally and high-profile international concerts.
