Makita’s poker hand

Makita recently introduced four new cordless vibrating concrete pokers to its line-up which demonstrate the versatility of the manufacturer’s battery systems.

Powered by Makita’s backpack battery units, the VR001C (pictured), VR002C, VR003C and VR004C models can deliver 12,000 vibrations per minute and are driven by a 36V high power motor housed in a lightweight body.

On each model the motor is located in the vibrator head to reduce power loss, while also reducing the vibration that is transferred to the user.

The VR001C has a 1.5m poker that is 43mm in diameter, while the VR002C is a 3m poker unit of 43mm diameter. The 1.5m VR003C has a 1.5m poker that is 52mm in diameter, and the VR004C is designed with a 52mm diameter, 3m poker.

For longer running times, all models can be run off Makita’s Direct Connection range of backpack power systems, which include the PDC1200 with a built-in 36V (33.5Ah) battery, or the PDC01 which uses up to four 18V LXT batteries, transferring the weight of the tool body to the backpack harness for user comfort with less fatigue.

When operated with the PDC1200 supply, the VR001C and VR002C will provide up to 300 minutes of running time on a single charge, while the VR003C and VR004C will provide up to 200 minutes per charge.
