Husqvarna takes the floor

I’ve been talking recently to several suppliers who report strong interest in electrically powered equipment as it can be used wherever there is a convenient power supply and gives the possibility of operation indoors. 

One such manufacturer is Husqvarna Construction which has introduced the FS 500 E, a small push floor saw powered by a 7.5kW IE3 electric motor. 

Richard Tremain, the company’s global product manager for floor saws, says that an added benefit is that noise levels are reduced and the product has an HAV (hand arm vibration) rating of below 2.5m/s². 

The FS 500 E is designed to be used for a majority of applications with cutting depths of up to 192 mm, and the machine accepts blades of a maximum 500mm diameter. Automatic soft start and phase error detection are incorporated and the built-in water tank makes it possible to work without an external water supply, with optimised flow to the diamond blade minimising water consumption, says Husqvarna.
