Prolectric appoints rehire specialist

Prolectric Services has appointed Malcolm Kershaw as Business Development Manager for ProRehire, its recently established rehire division offering its sustainable lighting and power equipment. 

Malcolm has more than 30 years’ experience in the engineering and plant equipment industry, and was formerly National Business Development Manager at Sunbelt Rentals UK.  

“I am delighted to be joining Prolectric at such a pivotal time for renewables and company growth,” he said. “Prolectric’s award-winning purpose-driven team are clearly at the forefront of the green revolution and leading the industry by example.”  

Rachel Preen, who was promoted to become Prolectric Managing Director in January, added: “It’s great to have Malcolm on board as Prolectric goes from strength to strength. We’ve increased headcount and are scaling up our engineering and operations team by nearly 50 per cent over the coming year, bringing in the best talent. Malcolm has all the hallmarks to make ProRehire our next success story as we support the rental industry to respond to the increasing demand for our solar products.”

ProRehire was launched in January and supplies sustainable power, lighting and security products to its rental partners, who comprise only hire companies. 

Prolectric was awarded a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2021 and holds a Gold CSR accreditation. Its headquarters are in Clevedon, Bristol. 

In 2021, Prolectric Services Ltd was acquired by Hill & Smith Holdings plc, a FTSE 250 £1 billion international group providing sustainable infrastructure and safe transport solutions. 

The company’s latest innovation is a 3-phase version of its Solar Hybrid Power unit, as reported on the blog last month.
