One Stop gets Gold

One Stop Hire has achieved Gold membership status of The 5% Club which highlights the commitment organisations make towards staff training and development. 

One Stop Hire’s CEO Steve Hitchen and his wife Danielle, who is also a Director of the business, received the accreditation at a ceremony held at the Mansion House in London with over 400 other guests including current and new members

The 5% Club’s members aspire to have 5% of their workforce in earn-and-learn positions within five years of joining, including apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes.

One Stop Hire, however, has achieved Gold since more than 10% of its employees are signed up to such training programmes. 

As the blog reported previously, the company has opened an Early Careers Academy to provide in-house training to its annual intake of new apprentices. 

The 5% scheme also assesses employers’ activities, evaluates their future plans and commitments, and examines their approaches to sustainability, quality, social mobility, diversity, and inclusion.

The initiative was the brainchild of Leo Quinn, Group CEO of Balfour Beatty and it recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.
