Visiting the Showman’s Show in Newbury last week provided an opportunity to catch up with exhibitors like BGG UK, the distributor of Bruno generators, whose MD Chris Archer was in typically upbeat mood. 

“We are absolutely flat out and we’ve never had a forward order book like it. It’s incredible and we are not seeing any signs of a slowdown. There is strong demand for Stage V generators across all power nodes and from all sectors, including construction, events, concerts and the like.

“Our main factory near Milan is working 24/7 to keep up with demand and is adding two more production lines. 

“The simple fact is that people need power for their sites and to cope with pressures on the grid. Our customers are buying generators to meet current and future demand, and our order book reflects the confidence that remains in various markets,” Chris told me. 

Amongst BGG products that are proving popular are the recently introduced ‘twinpack’ Stage V generator sets (shown below) mounted in custom-built 10ft, 30ft and 40ft containers. 

By coupling two Stage V generators together, larger power nodes can be achieved, in various combinations from 300kVA to 1320kVA. The sets are designed to give long running times in terms of both fuel consumption and AdBlue usage. 

The machines are designed to be easy to service owing to the way they are positioned within the containers. 

Two versions of the generators are available. GX models give a low noise level of 75dBA at 7m, while FQ variants are even quieter with a level of 75dBA at 1m. 

BGG has also introduced a dedicated AdBlue tank that can be used in tandem with its Stage V generators. More on that in a future blog post.
