Rapid start for MPG

There might be talk of a slowdown in some quarters of industry, but the rapid start made by recently formed MPG Hire suggests there are still plenty of opportunities out there.
The operation specialises in the hire of welfare cabins and its name is based on the initials of the two principal people in the business, MD Marc Prince and General Manager Mel Gould.
Marc Prince was a co-founder in 2010 of Welfare4Hire, which Mel Gould joined in 2017, eventually becoming MD. In 2021, the business was acquired by AER Rents.
MPG Hire’s head office is in Derby and there are two other depots in Chobham (Surry) and Leeds, serving customers throughout England.
Mel Gould (pictured) tells me that demand has exceeded expectations and that the fleet is growing rapidly. The range offered comprises welfare units from AJC EasyCabin for six, ten, 12 and 16 people.
“We have got off to a great start,” he said. “No sooner does a unit come back from hire than it’s out again. We’ve been regularly adding more units each month from AJC who have been really good in getting them to us quickly.”
