MKM adds hire in Blackpool

This week has seen the addition of a tool and equipment hire activity at the Blackpool branch of the independent builders’ merchant MKM. 

This is the twelfth MKM depot to introduce hire out of a nationwide network of 110 merchant locations operated by the Hull-based business, and more are in the pipeline. 

I paid a call to see the new facility and talked about the new hire operation with Business Development Manager Lee Armsby, pictured (left) with Blackpool Tool Hire Manager Matt Taylor, as well as Business Directors Darren Whiteside and Joe Keane who are in overall charge of the branch. 

It’s clear that considerable investment has been made in the new fleet, including compact dumpers, compaction plates, generators and trash pumps from Altrad Belle; mini excavators from JCB; transformers and gardening equipment from Hire Supply Co; Husqvarna cut-off saws; Bosch breakers; and Euro Towers mobile access towers, amongst other items.
