MCS targets US

MCS is busy developing a growing customer base in the United States. 

The hire software specialist established MCS Inc based in Alabama at the end of last year and exhibited at the ARA Show (American Rental Association) in Orlando in February. 

MCS' Marketing Manager Megan Young tells me that there are a number of interesting differences in the way hire (or perhaps I should use the American term, rental) transactions are often made. 

While in the UK there is much focus on invoicing for payment, a greater proportion of transactions across the Atlantic are paid for by credit card or cheque, even amongst tradespeople. 

And there are a large number of companies still using paper-based systems. 

MCS Inc has already reported strong interest from hire companies operating outside mainstream tool and plant hire, including organisations serving the traffic management and skip (or dumpster) hire sectors. 

Interest is also being raised in Latin American countries and it will be fascinating to see how MCS’ US activities develop.
